25 Alpine Road, Novato — Welcome to one of Marin County’s grand estates, perched atop a private knoll at the end of prestigious Alpine Road in the exclusive Greenpoint neighborhood. Situated on 5.27 acres with commanding views of the Marin countryside and Mount Tamalpais, this opulent 5 BR / 5.5 BA 6,785 square foot gated estate is adorned with custom architectural details and top-of-the-line premium finishes throughout. Designed for entertaining, the home’s open-concept kitchen and large-scale rooms flow effortlessly out to multiple outdoor living areas including a stunning central courtyard, reminiscent of a boutique resort with its spacious, private patio and inviting pool.
A truly impressive estate, 25 Alpine Road offers luxury living at its finest.
The long, winding gated drive is lined with stately Italian cypress and leads to an impressive motor court with a circular drive in front of the home, perfect for hosting large-scale events. There is ample guest parking on the side of the home in addition to the 4-car garage. If needed, there is plenty of additional parking provided outside the gate.
Custom double-entry doors open to welcome guests into the home’s impressive grand foyer. The arched entry is flanked by beautiful architectural columns and boasts high ceilings, crown moulding, gleaming marble floors and one of many sparkling chandeliers which hang in this luxurious residence.
The estate offers a feature that while common in other parts of the world is unique here in Marin County — a central courtyard. The home is built around this intimate outdoor space creating an inviting, private oasis and focal point that is enjoyed from almost every room in the home. The main living spaces open effortlessly out to the courtyard including a nano door in the family room which opens the entire wall, blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor living.
The courtyard features an inviting pool and spacious patio, providing ample room for sunbathing, entertaining and dining al fresco. There is also a cozy outdoor fireplace, ideal for enjoying cooler evenings.
The large formal living and dining rooms are located to the left and right of the entry foyer respectively and are accentuated by the home’s architectural arches and columns. The living room features a gas fireplace. Both sun-filled rooms enjoy views of the distant hills and feature French doors that open out to the home’s central courtyard.
The spacious open-concept kitchen is truly an entertainer’s dream. Open to the family room, and adjacent to the dining room for ease of service, the kitchen’s soaring ceilings are accentuated by a spectacular chandelier in the center of the room. A stunning curved wall of windows floods the kitchen with natural light and offers panoramic views all the way to Mount Tamalpais.
The premium stainless appliances include a Kitchen Aid refrigerator, a Thermador cooktop and dishwasher, dual sinks, dual Thermador ovens, and a Fisher & Paykel drawer dishwasher great for wine glasses. The high-end custom cabinetry features intricate woodwork details and marble countertops. The kitchen also features a large walk-in pantry, a center island and a bar for quick, casual dining.
The spacious family room features beautiful coffered ceilings, marble floors and a gas fireplace. It is open to the kitchen and can also accommodate a large dining table. A nano door on one side completely opens the wall between the family room and the central courtyard creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living. Sliding doors on the other side open out to another large entertaining patio and level lawn area.
The expansive lawn and patio area is easily accessible from the kitchen / family room as well as the first floor bedroom suite and is perfect for entertaining or play. This area is accentuated by park-like pathways and features a beautiful water feature as well as a putting green.
The grand master suite features a balcony with French doors that overlooks the central courtyard and boasts views of Mount Tamalpais. There is an enormous walk-in closet and a large room adjacent to the master suite that would be ideal as a home office or gym.
The luxurious master bathroom is worthy of a resort spa and features dual vanities with marble countertops, a jetted soaking tub as well as a large, separate glass-enclosed shower and toilet room. There is also a second laundry room just off the master bath.
There is a large bedroom suite situated on the main level which could be utilized as a second master suite or a luxurious guest room. It features beautiful views and opens to the large patio through sliding doors.
