If you are looking for homes for sale in the Fairhills neighborhood of San Rafael, you have come to the right place.  The Fairhills community is highly-desired for many reasons, including its magnificent views, luxurious homes, underground utilities, well-maintained streets, larger lot sizes and its active property owners association supported by a voluntary $40 annual fee (as of this writing).

Located above downtown San Rafael on the northwest side, the neighborhood is convenient to shopping and restaurants while feeling like an escape above the city.  Homes face east, south, north and west, some with magnificent views of Mt. Tamalpais, the bay and sunsets.  One of my Fairhills listings, 85 Oakmont Avenue, even featured a view of the downtown San Francisco skyline!

The area is served by Sun Valley Elementary School (currently rated 10/10 on GreatSchools.org)  and Davidson Middle School.  For high school there is a choice between either San Rafael High School or Terra Linda High School, but be sure to check with the San Rafael School District to verify availability and enrollment.  The prestigious Marin Academy is also located nearby.  You may wish to consult my Marin schools guide for more information.

Residents enjoy easy access to the historical Rafael Theater, as well as great hikes including the Ridgewood Trail Fire Road hike, which is popular with dogs and humans alike. I love stopping by Johnny’s Donuts as well as The Kitchen Table, and the highly-curated Ace Hardware just down the hill is a wonderful place to pick up hardware items and gifts.
