Hey y’all! See you in Nashville!

Sotheby’s International Realty has announced that the 2024 Global Networking Event (GNE) will occur in one of my favorite cities in the world — Nashville, Tennessee. Early bird registration is available for US$2,195 until May 31st. Starting June 1st, registration will increase to US$2,395. The event will be held at the beautiful Music City Center in downtown Nashville.

I was raised about an hour south of Nashville and lived in Nashville after going to college at Auburn University. I still return to Nashville each Christmas to see friends and family, and am so excited to attend the GNE there. I am with Golden Gate Sotheby’s International Realty in Marin County, California, just north of San Francisco.

I have attended several GNE’s, starting with the one in Los Angeles in 2015. I found them to be a great way to meet some of the best agents in the global Sotheby’s International Realty network. The breakout sessions and general session presentations were very helpful to learn best practices from around the world, and to better understand the general direction of the brand. Not to mention — the meetings are a lot of fun!

I was humbled and honored to have been asked to be a member of the social media panel discussion at the Global Networking Event 2017 (#SIRGNE #GNE2017) for Sotheby’s International Realty.  As a real estate agent in Marin County, California, I have spent a lot of time building my social media / web presence, and I strongly believe it benefits both me and my clients. We had a great discussion and am so happy to have connected with so many of you on social media since then.

The Global Networking Event in 2024 will be a great way for Sotheby’s International Realty agents to meet in person and establish connections to benefit our clients. In the meantime, I look forward to connecting with you on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Pinterest.

Better yet, I look forward to connecting with you in person!

Fortunately for us, the GNE event organizers have negotiated great rates at seven hotels just minutes from the meeting venue. As of this writing, hotels are booking up quickly with the JR Marriott and the Four Seasons now showing sold out.  Rooms range from $279 a night at the Westin to $495 a night at the Four Seasons.

Nashville downtown is a great place to visit, with lots of shops and restaurants. If you’re a walker or a jogger, check out the Cumberland River Greenway, which you can access downtown at Riverfront Park. Just enter 100 1st Avenue North into Google Maps.

TENTATIVE AGENDA as of 3/8/2024

Thomas’ Tips on Nashville

With Nashville’s world famous music scene and the amazing choice of great restaurants and bars, there is no shortage of things to see and do in Nashville. Broadway, downtowns main strip is always bustling with crowds but there are many places throughout Nashville worth a visit. Below are a few of my Nashville favorites but by no means all of my favorites:

Favorite Nature Get-a-Ways in the City:
Percy Warner park (entrance at the end of Belle Meade Blvd). https://www.nashville.gov/departments/parks/parks/warner-parks
Radnor Lake.  https://tnstateparks.com/parks/radnor-lake

Both are located in two of the most beautiful residential neighborhoods I know – Belle Meade and Forest Hills.

Some Favorite Breakfast Spots:
Biscuit Love. The name says it all. https://www.biscuitlove.com/
Pinewood Social – but much more than a breakfast place. https://pinewoodsocial.com/ Elliston Place Soda Shop – also a good diner and meat-and-three. https://www.ellistonplacesodashop.com/
The Loveless Café – This one is a bit of a drive outside town and the wait is long if you don’t have a reservation….but those biscuits!  https://lovelesscafe.com/

Some Favorite Music Spots:
Bluebird Café – small, intimate famous singer/writer spot. If you look closely, you’ll see me at one of the front tables in the Bluebird Café documentary https://bluebirdthemovie.com/.  https://bluebirdcafe.com/
The Station Inn. https://stationinn.com/
Ryman Auditorium. https://www.ryman.com/
Exit/In. https://exitin.com/

Some Favorite Bars:
Old Glory – great hidden spot in Edgehill neighborhood. It used to be a boiler room for White Way Cleaners. https://oldglorynashville.com/
Skull’s Rainbow Room. Located in famous Printer’s Alley. https://www.skullsrainbowroom.com/
The Patterson House. https://www.thepattersonnashville.com/

Some Favorite Restaurants:
Rolf and Daughters – Great salads, apps and pastas. The chicken is also incredible. https://www.rolfanddaughters.com/
Yolan – Amazing flavors. I highly recommend the chef’s tasting menu. https://www.yolannashville.com/
Audrey – Elevated southern cooking. Did someone say chicken and dumplings? All created by Chef Sean Brock. https://www.audreynashville.com/
Café Margot – a longtime favorite. https://www.margotcafe.com/

Favorite Nashville Hot Chicken
Hattie B’s – Great chicken with the added bonus of peach cobble and banana pudding, 2 of my fav southern desserts. https://www.hattieb.com/
Prince’s Hot Chicken – The original. https://www.princeshotchicken.com/
