Wondering what the most expensive homes sold in Marin County in 2018 were? As 2019 kicks off, I thought it would be worthwhile to take a moment to look back on the Marin County real estate market in 2018 to see the top 10 sales last year. The very top sale, a home on a site once owned by iconic concert promoter Bill Graham, was 800 Corte Madera Avenue in Corte Madera (featured below), which sold for $21,400,000 at the end of July. This sale was almost $7 million more than the top sale in 2017 which was 345 Golden Gate Avenue in Belvedere.

I am proud that Sotheby’s International Realty represented 4 of the top 5 sales in 2018, demonstrating once again that luxury home buyers and sellers look to us for their business. Other interesting stats: of the top 10, all but one went for less than the asking price. Two homes in the top 10 were sold off market and then placed on the Multiple Listing System (MLS) after the sale. Not reflected here are any sales that were off market and not later input into MLS.
