The Ten Most Expensive Homes Sold in Marin County in 2022

Thomas sold 1100 Cabro Ridge (above), One of the Most Expensive Homes Ever Sold in Novato

The most expensive Marin County home sold in 2022 sold in Belvedere for $19,500,000, down significantly from 2021’s top sale of $28,100,000. Six of the top ten were sold in the first half of the year, before rising interest rates and a declining stock market took their toll on the overall market. The bucolic town of Ross which usually dominates this list took a backseat this year to southern Marin towns of Mill Valley, Tiburon, Belvedere and Stinson Beach which represented seven of the top ten most expensive homes sold in 2022. No single agent or brokerage dominated the top 10, also a departure from prior years.

The real estate market in Marin returned to a more healthy, balanced market, with the median sold price down 4% at the end of the year to $1,583,000. Check out my monthly Marin Real Estate Market Reports  for my commentary on the market.
